I had an Apple OEM 2.5" hard drive leftover from upgrading a different Mac laptop to an SSD. Before opening the packaging, I researched what I could on the Apricorn and Best Buy websites, but found no negatives.

The new drive and the system is now much faster and I have an extra 1 TB external hard drive to use on top of it.ĭon't expect the software to work, and if it does, consider it a bonus. I downloaded a software package from EASEUS and it worked fine to clone my hard drive to the new SSD.

For the extra $10, I could use my original laptop drive in the case as an external drive instead of just having a one-time use cable laying around.Īfter buying the case, I read several reviews that noted the software that comes with the drive doesn't always work. The Best Buy tech recommended buying an external drive case rather than just a cable.
